I met Andrea in our freshman year of high school. It was a music boarding school near our hometown, so whenever we coincidentally rode back to school together after the weekend, we used to sit and listen to music together. I realized she had a really cool taste in music, and we spent those rides showing each other music we liked.

When I heard her sing, I instantly liked her voice, and when I found out she wrote songs, I was intrigued. Unfortunately she wouldn’t show those songs to anyone, or at least not me haha.

At one point after high school, I started a side project with my good friend Judah (Judah Just Kidding), and neither of us wanted to sing the songs we wrote, so we asked Andrea and lucky for us she said yes. We played a couple of concerts lowkey, but Judah and I both realized she was a perfect fit to our kind of chill indie vibe. That’s when «i just wanna go home» was made. Honestly, it’s one of my favorites of the songs I’ve released.

We continued writing songs together, but Andrea had a need to find her own sound and sonic expression. Obviously that’s something that shifts over time, but after some years of writing with many different musicians, and of course life experience, she started releasing music as Drea. It made a lot of sense when I first listened to her songs that this was how she wanted to express herself.

Drea is a heartfelt and honest artist project Andrea started a couple of years ago and is now signed by us at Rainflower. The whole team are big fans of Andrea’s writing and voice, so we are excited to see your reactions to her upcoming releases.

I’m stoked on her behalf! I hope anyone reading this wants to check out her previous stuff and everything that is to be released!

Cheers<3
